Correlation study between self perceived burden and social support and coping style in patients with stroke

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the correlation between self perceived burden and social support and coping style in patients with stroke.Methods:A total of 1 6 1 patients with stroke were investigated by self perceived burden scale,social support rating scale and medical coping style questionnaire.Results:94.41% of patients with cerebral apoplexy had different levels of self perceived burden,total score of self perceived burden was(32.39± 6.64),were at moderate burden level.Total score of self perceived burden showed a negative correlation with the total score of social support,the obj ective support,subj ective support,the use degree of support in social support respectively (r=-0.337/-0.377/-0.212/-0.219,all P<0.05);and was negative correlation with the face in coping style(r=-0.249,P<0.05),and was positively correlated with the yield(r= 0.349,P<0.05), and no correlation with avoid(r=0.099,P>0.05).Conclusion:Strole patients existed generally self perceived burden in different degree,and the medical personnel should guide patient to take positive coping style,pay at-tention to assessment and intervention of their social support level,reduce the self perceived burden of patient, so as to improve the patient’s physical and mental health level.
