Abstract:The study employs a combination of historical building information modeling(HBIM)technology,in conjunction with 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry,to facilitate the collection and processing of data for the 3D modelling of architectural heritage. This approach is undertaken to establish a digital resource library, comprising resource blocks, including a primary architecture with retrieval functions and service modules for data collection functions. The experimental data demonstrate that the measurement area error of the research method is approximately 0.46×106 m2,which is 2.52×106 m2 lower than that of three-dimensional laser scanning measurement. The measurement error rate of the research method is approximately 0.21%,which is lower than that of 3D laser scanning measurement and oblique photogrammetry methods.A comparison of manual and digital methods of recording has revealed that the former can improve efficiency by approximately 75%and 67%when recording building structures and construction processes respectively. The findings suggest that utilising the HBIM-based digital resource construction method for the study of historical buildings exhibits high levels of accuracy and efficiency. This approach has the potential to significantly reduce resource consumption within the construction industry, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of architectural heritage protection work.
