Abstract:This study aimed to optimize the extraction of total flavonoids from Rosmarinus officinalis L.by response methodology and to assess the antioxidant activity of the extracted flavonoids. The results indicated that the optimal extraction process involved an extraction temperature of 47.5 ℃,a solid-to-liquid ratio of 1∶20.24,and an ultrasonic time of 32.11 minutes. The extraction yield of flavonoids was found to be 6.41%under these conditions.Antioxidant experiments showed that the flavonoids extracted from Rosmarinus officinalis L.exhibited notable antioxidant activity, with a concentration that was directly proportional to the scavenging rate of DPPH and hydroxyl radicals. The application of response surface methodology(RSM)for optimizing the flavonoid extraction process from Rosmarinus officinalis L.has been demonstrated to be a straightforward and efficient approach, characterized by low energy consumption and high efficiency. The findings of this study offer a theoretical foundation for the development and utilization of high-value Rosmarinus officinalis L.products.
