Flexural Performance of Rectangular Steel Ultra-High Performance Concrete Beams Under Different Parameters

Abstract:The flexural test of concrete beams was conducted to analyze the strain distribution of the cross-section of section steel beams in the middle of the span under the load,as well as the changes of deflection and stiffness along the length of the section steel beams. The following conclusions were drawn:1)when the external load increased, the strain of different sections of section steel beams in the upper side of the compression region increased, and the strain of the lower side of the tension region increased first and then decreased. In comparison to other steel-reinforced concrete beams, those with flanges on either side of the steel exhibited enhanced bearing and bending capacities;2)when subjected to an increasing external load, the deflection of the concrete beam without a steel section reached its limit at 125 kN,exhibiting a greater deflection value than that of the concrete beam with a steel section. The double flange steel section in the concrete beam had a load-bearing capacity of 485 kN.In comparison to other steel-reinforced concrete ground beams, the concrete beam with double flange steel sections exhibited the lowest deflection value and the greatest load-bearing capacity;3)during the actual construction process, the installation of steel sections in concrete beams could enhance their load-bearing capacity. The configuration of flanges on both the upper and lower or left and right sides of the steel sections had the effect of maximizing the stiffness of the concrete beam, reducing the deflection of the concrete beam and increasing the load-bearing capacity of the concrete beam.
