Abstract:In this paper ,high temperature oxidation regulation of Fe‐23M n‐2Al‐V nonmagnetic steel is studied at different heating temperature and different holding time .T he oxidation behaviors of Fe‐23M n‐2Al‐V are simulated in the muffle furnace .The oxides scale ,structural features and redistribution of the alloy elements are investigated by optical microscopy ,scanning electron microscopy ,energy dispersive spec‐troscopy and scan electron probe ,respectively .The results show that the continuous and compact oxide layers inhibit oxidation at relatively low heating temperature .The intra‐oxidation and intergranular oxida‐tion would be obviously accelerated with the increase of oxidation temperature and time ,which results in the increase of oxide thickness and grain‐boundary oxidation .At high oxidation temperature ,the oxidation layer can be classified into two zones of the external‐oxidation and internal‐oxidation layers .The depth of internal‐oxidation is about 20~30μm .The phases of α‐Fe ,ε‐Fe ,γ‐Fe ,MnAl2 O4 and AlN are observed in in‐ternal‐oxidation layer .T he surface crack origin is formed in the seriously grain boundary oxidation ,and then the surface fine cracks are not developed but propagated in the process of hot rolling .
