On the Effect of Different Sources of Al on the Properties of LiBH4 Hydrogen Storage

Abstract：In this paper ,LiBH4 was ball-milled respectively with Al powder ,LiAlH4 and Li3 AlH6 as the Al source to form hydrogen storage composites .T he effects of Al source on the hydrogen storage proper-ties of LiBH4 were systematically investigated by phase analysis of hydriding/dehydriding process and hy-drogen desorption/absorption properties measurements of LiBH4/Al ,LiBH4/LiAlH4 and LiBH4/Li3 AlH6 composites .It was found that the active Al formed by decoposition of Li3 AlH6 showed eminent improve-ments on the hydrogen decomposition of LiBH4 ,and its dehydrided product showed the best reversible hy-driding kinetics .
