Abstract：Since several hundred years ago,anti-fouling coating materials(AFCMs)have been widely researched and used on the surfaces of various marine environmental facilities such as ships and pipelines,playing a role in preventing the attachment of various organisms such as microorganisms,plants,and animals in water.This article mainly reviews the development history,theoreti-cal research,performance characteristics,and application technologies of AFCMs,and thereby puts forward some suggestions on the future development of AFCMs.
