Abstract:This study investigates the feasibility of employing a composite admixture comprising sodium polyacrylate(PAAS)and citric acid(CA)for the repair of macroscopic cracks in cement mortar,as well as their synergistic effects. The results indicate that PAAS exhibits excellent water absorption and swelling capacity, enabling effective macroscopic crack repair.Furthermore, citric acid serves as an efficient auxiliary additive, facilitating the repair process by promoting calcium carbonate(CaCO3)precipitation and retarding cement hydration, thereby ensuring complete crack closure. The repair mechanism of this theory was further verified through optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy testing methods.
