Abstract：Aerogel is a material composed of nanoscale particles aggregated into a nanoscale porous network structure.Due to its unique internal structure,characterized by ultra-high porosity,specific surface area,and nanoscale pore size,aerogel exhibits ex-ceptional thermal insulation properties that surpass those of other insulating materials.As a result,aerogel has the potential to be-come the most outstanding new type of thermal insulation material.This paper provides a comprehensive review of the development history,preparation processes,modification methods,and applications of silica-based aerogels,offering insights into the future devel-opment directions of aerogels.
