Abstract:To investigate the ultimate bearing capacity, mechanical characteristics, and optimal dimensions of joint components in new epoxy resin concrete inspection chambers,ABAQUS was employed for multi-dimensional selection and computational analy-sis of the joint components.A 2∶1 scaled-down component was fabricated and subjected to vertical loading tests under buried soil conditions, yielding the failure patterns and load-displacement curves of the components. The results indicate that:During vertical loading, the weakest points of the inspection chamber joint components are located on both sides of the connection between the chamber and the pipeline. The crack propagation direction extends at a 45° angle along the chamber wall, forming a"horizontal figure-eight"pattern until it penetrates the chamber wall. The optimal dimensions are an 80mm chamber wall thickness,a 400 mm aperture diameter, and a 35 mm pipeline wall thickness. The ultimate bearing capacity of the joint components is 1000 kN.
