Abstract:This article analyzed the composition and structure of iron tailings.Polycarboxylic acid was selected as the basic structure, and YJ type iron tailings dispersant was prepared by grafting modification. The dispersion mechanism was confirmed to be the superposition effect of steric hindrance and electrostatic repulsion through sedimentation rate and zeta potential detection. The optimal synthesis process was determined to be a polyether molecular weight of 5000,an acid ether ratio of 4∶1,and the best modified monomer was vinyl phosphonic acid. The effect was best when the proportion of substituted carboxyl groups was 15%.The sedimentation rate of YJ type dispersant synthesized by the optimal process is 1.2%.Verified by infrared spectroscopy and el-emental analysis,it is the expected design product,Compared with commercially available dispersants, the dispersion performance of YJ type iron tailings dispersant has obvious advantages.
