Effect of finely ground limestone powder on cement paste rheology and concrete pore structure

Abstract：Replacing some cement with limestone powder,the effects of limestone powder fineness and dosage on the rheological properties of cement paste,pore structure of concrete and micro-morphology of cement was studied.The test results show that the admixture of finely ground limestone powder can effectively reduce the yield stress and consistency of cement paste.As the particle size decreases,the yield stress and consistency of the cement paste first decrease and then increase;As the dosage increases,the yield stress and consistency of the cement paste decrease,and the rheological index increases.Adding limestone powder will reduce the porosity and pore spacing coefficient of concrete,increase the specific surface area of pores,and increase the number of small pores and reduce the large pores in concrete as the particle size decreases and the dosage increases.
