Abstract:The influence of density and fiber content on energy absorption performance and failure mode of polypropylene fiber foam concrete was studied through static compression test. The results show that when the density of foam concrete is 260,300,and 400 kg/m3,the optimal fiber content is 0.20%,exhibiting 54%,15%,and 24%enhancements compared to non-fiber counterparts, while those with densities of 500 and 600 kg/m3 required 0.4%fiber content, both demonstrating a 73%performance improvement.Additionally, fiber incorporation shifted the compressive failure mode from brittle splitting to ductile lateral crushing.Pore structure analysis revealed that increasing density from 260 to 600 kg/m3 reduced porosity from 76%to 51%and average pore area from 5.8 to 0.9 mm2,which significantly enhanced fiber bridging effects through thickened matrix walls.
