Abstract:By incorporating quartz sand or glass fibers as reinforcing materials into magnesium potassium phosphate cement(MKPC)coatings for steel structures, this paper studies the mechanical properties such as pencil hardness, impact resistance, and bond strength of modified MKPC coatings before and after thermal shock experiments, and evaluate their corrosion resistance through microscopic characterization and electrochemical methods. The results show that the addition of these materials improved the pore structure of coatings, improved its later compressive strength and bonding strength. In particular, the incorporation of glass fibers greatly enhanced the corrosion resistance, with the polarization resistance being more than three times higher than that of the unreinforced coatings. As the thermal shock temperature increases and the number of thermal shocks increases, the bonding strength of the three sets of coatings gradually decreases. But the pencil hardness remained unaffected at the highest grade of 9H.Quartz sand effectively prevented the propagation of large cracks, while the addition of glass fiber significantly enhances the cohesion of the coating, delaying the initiation and growth of cracks.
