Abstract:This study conducted an experiment regarding the electrochemical chloride extraction(ECE)process of reinforced concrete based on typical concrete mix design used by nuclear power plants in China. The research investigated the effects of ECE on rebar corrosion and chloride content in concrete, and discussed the influence of water-to-binder ratio and cover depth on the chloride removal effectiveness. The experimental results indicate that an increase in the cover depth leads to accumulation of chloride ions in the middle part of concrete, which significantly reduced the ECE process.A higher water-to-cement ratio results in better ECE results.ECE can also alter the concrete pore structure, enhancing concrete's resistance to external environments.
