Abstract:Using red mud, silica fume and waste glass powder as raw materials, microwave sintering technology was used to prepare red mud-based ceramic grains, and the effect of microwave sintering system on the performance of ceramic grains and the performance of phosphogypsum heat preservation composites prepared from red mud-based ceramic grains was investigated by test-ing the physical properties such as granular strength, apparent density, and water absorption rate,as well as the fine-microscopic structure of the ceramic grains. The results showed that the optimum sintering temperature was 1100℃and the holding time was 5 min,at which time the ceramic particles had higher strength, moderate apparent density, lower water absorption and better overall performance. With the increase of ceramic grain doping, the thermal conductivity of composite thermal insulation material is gradual-ly reduced, and when the ceramic grain doping reaches 15%,the thermal conductivity is reduced to 0.2201 W/(m·K).
