Abstract:The submicron TiO2 particles were used as an anti-corrosion reinforcing filler to be incorporated into the ethylene-chlorotrifluoroeethylene(ECTFE).The TiO2/ECTFE composite coatings were prepared on carbon steel surfaces using electrostatic spraying technology followed by a heat treatment process. The results indicate that the TiO2 can enhance the anti-corrosion performance of the ECTFE coating, with its effectiveness being positively correlated with the TiO2 content. The surface roughness and hydrophobicity of the coating doped with 10.0%TiO2 are optimal, and the anti-corrosion performance is better. After soaking for 30 days, the low-frequency impedance is 6.94×109 Ω·cm2.TiO2 particles synergistically enhance the anti-corrosion performance of composite coatings by increasing surface roughness, reducing the internal porosity, and exhibiting a labyrinth effect.
