Abstract:Uses slag, hydrated lime, and polycarboxylate water-reducing agent to solidify and granulate silty clay, achieving high-strength granulation of silty clay. The effects of the dosages of slag and water-reducing agent,as well as the curing time,on the products of the clay particles and the strength characteristics of the particles were analyzed. The experimental study shows that the slag and hydrated lime undergo a hydration reaction, and the products are amorphous gels such as C-S-H and C-A-S-H.These gels play a cementing role on the granulated particles and fill the pores between the particles, thus increasing the strength of the granulated soil particles. At the same time, the addition of an appropriate amount of polycarboxylate water-reducing agent can significantly improve the compactness of the particles. In addition, the solidified clay particles have the characteristic of early strength. The maximum strength can reach 2.0 MPa after 7-day curing.
