Research progress on self-healing materials for concrete

Abstract：The harm of concrete cracks has become a consensus in the industry.The self-healing technology of concrete origi-nates from biomimetics,which helps to solve the problem of concrete cracks,improve the durability and stability of concrete struc-tures,and reduce the maintenance cost of concrete structures.According to different mechanisms of action,it can be divided into two types:active healing technology and passive healing technology.This article mainly describes the research progress based on the components of concrete self-healing materials,systematically summarizes the self-healing mechanisms of different components such as cementitious materials,crystallization additives,expansion additives,and superabsorbent polymers,and proposes suggestions for further research directions,providing a basis and ideas for the study of concrete self-healing technology.
