Study on the bonding properties between cement-based waterproof materials and ceramic tile adhesives in humid environment

Abstract：Because the kitchen and bathroom are in a humid state all the year round,the matching between the waterproof material and the tile adhesive in this environment affects the stability of the entire tile laying system.To this end,four different cement-based waterproof materials and two different ceramic tile adhesives were selected to study the change of bonding properties between ceramic tile adhesives and cement-based waterproof materials by changing the thickness and type of ceramic tile adhesives in different environments.The results show that the thick-paste method is more likely to reduce the bond strength between the two materials when the size changes are different than that of the thin-paste method.The bonding strength of the rigid cement-based waterproof material with tile is higher than that of the flexible cement-based waterproof material under the thin paste construction method.
