Abstract:A VPEG type polycarboxylic acid superplasticizer was synthesized by copolymerization of 4-hydroxybutyl vinyl poly-oxyethylene ether(VPEG)with acrylic acid, and its properties were studied. The results show that the relative molecular weight of VPEG monomer should be controlled at 2200,the acid-ether ratio should be 4,H202 as the oxidizing agent, ferrous gluconate should be used as the reducing agent,n(ferrous gluconate)∶n(H202)=1∶70,sodium sulfite should be used as the reducing assistant, with a proportion of 3/1 to the ferrous gluconate, and the amount of chain transfer agent should be 4%.The synthesis temperature, time and pH should be controlled at 15 ℃,45 min and 5.C30 concrete prepared using the water reducing agent obtained by this process has a water reduction rate of 29%,a bleeding rate ratio of 16%,an air content of 3.8%,compressive strength ratios of 155%and 137%at 7 and 28 days,a segregation rate of 4.1%,a bleeding rate of 0.5%,and good cohesion and fluidity.
