Abstract:Using iron mine waste rock as aggregate and adding appropriate auxiliary materials such as cement and iron tail-ings,non-fired water permeable bricks were produced by hydrostatic forming process. The effects of molding pressure, holding time, curing time, water cement ratio, and porosity on the compressive strength and permeability coefficient of permeable bricks were studied, and the microstructure of the samples was analyzed through SEM photos. The test results show that the design parameters of the mix ratio were as follows:porosity was 20%,cement was 10%,iron tailings powder was 10%,iron tailings waste rock was 80%,the ratio of water-cement was 0.40,and water-reducing agent was 1.5%.The optimal process conditions for obtaining perme-able bricks were:the molding pressure was 8 MPa,and the pressure holding time was 50 s,standard curing for 28 d.Under the con-dition of this processing,non-fired water permeable bricks with the compressive strength of 10.4 MPa and the permeation coefficient of 2.24×10-2cm/s were obtained.
