Abstract:The effects of different adding methods of granite and tuff stone powder on the properties of C40 concrete were studied. The results show that:when replacing fly ash with equal amounts of stone powder, the impact on concrete slump is rela-tively small, but the strength of the concrete decreases when the amount is high, and the replacement amount should not exceed 40 kg/m3.The replacement of machine-made sand by stone powder in equal amount has no adverse effect on strength. The viscosity of concrete mixture has significantly increased. The replacement of machine-made sand by granite stone powder should not exceed 90 kg/m3,and the replacement of tuff stone powder should not exceed 60 kg/m3.Granite stone powder and tuff rock powder should si multaneously replace fly ash and machine-made sand to reduce the adverse effect of individual replacement. An increase of 10 kg/m3 of water consumption can make the viscosity of stone powder concrete consistent with the benchmark concrete.Although the strength and resistance to chloride ion penetration of concrete slightly decreased,it has no adverse effect on the early crack resis-tance of concrete. The two kinds of stone powder can be used in producing C40 concrete which has certain design strength surplus and served in mild environment.
