Preparation and property of epoxy adhesive for utility tunnel bonding

Abstract：The requirements on the mechanical and durability property of the epoxy adhesive for utility tunnel bonding are higher than traditional epoxy building structural adhesives. Effect of the dosage of fillers,coupling agent,toughening agent and car-bon fiber on the properties of the epoxy adhesive was discussed and a novel epoxy adhesive for utility tunnel bonding was pre-pared. Results showed that the prepared epoxy adhesive is no sagging with 1.6mm coating thickness,the working time is 50 min, the tensile strength is 34 MPa,the bending strength is 50 MPa with non-brittle fracture,the compressive strength is 88 MPa,the bonding shear strength is 16 MPa,the bonding strength to concrete is 4.0 MPa with concrete cohesion failure,the decrease percent-age of the bonding shear strength is 8.2％ after hydrothermal aging,and the deformation value is 0.3 mm after long-term stress. All properties meet the requirements of the epoxy adhesive for utility tunnel bonding.
