Correlation of density with water permeability and strength of stainless steel slag permeable bricks

Abstract：Physical and chemical properties of a kind of stainless steel slag was analyzed in this paper. This materials and the semi-dry compression molding process were used to prepare the permeable bricks. A simple test device and method was designed to test the permeable coefficient. The effects of mixtures on bulk density,water permeability and compressive strength were studied,and the relationship among the three kinds of performance were also researched. The results show that the simple permeable test method was of high reliability,the permeability of stainless steel slag permeable brick meets the demand of A-level in standard The Permeable Bricks(JC/T 945—2005),the appropriate dosage of steel slag would let to higher strength. Density, permeability and strength of permeable brick,which made by different quality material and the same mixtures,presented a higher linear relationship.
