Abstract:The effects of magnesium to phosphorus ratio, borax content, fineness of magnesia, water binder ratio and fly ash content on the compressive strength of magnesium phosphate cement were investigated. The results show that the ratio of magne-sium to phosphorus has a very great influence on compressive strength, and there is an optimum ratio value. The influence of bo-rax content on the early compressive strength is obvious, and the compressive strength of 4 h and 1 d can be reduced by 79.7% and 73.1% respectively at most. The increase of specific surface area of burned magnesia is beneficial to the increase of compres-sive strength at different age. On the contrary, the increase of water binder ratio is unfavorable to the development of compressive strength. A small amount of fly ash has little influence on the compressive strength, while the large amount of fly ash has a greater influence on the compressive strength, which greatly reduces the compressive strength at all ages.
