Abstract:The change law of adhesive strength of hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose(HEMC)and ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA)modified mortar under 80℃ with 30%/55%/80% relative humidity(RH)for 28 days was studied. Results indicate that when based on ceramic tiles,EVA emulsion powder can significantly improve the adhesive strength of cement mortar but there is no mix proportion can reach the standard(JC/T 547—2005)"Ceramic wall tile adhesive" requirements under 80%RH. When based on con-crete plates, with the increasing humidity the adhesive strength of HEMC and EVA modified mortar appears to ascend first and then decline later. Compared to room temperature(20℃),80℃ would weaken the adverse effect of high humidity to the adhesive strength of EVA modified cement mortar although it is not beneficial to the development of above adhesive strength.
