The research on the effect of ceramsite aggregate on asphalt mixture properties

Abstract：In order to improve the high temperature stability of asphalt mixture and reduce the rutting,the research uses dif-ferent proportion isopyknic ceramsite to replace fine aggregate with the particle size of 0.6~4.75 mm to make HMA. In addition,the Marshall test and pavement performance test were conducted to study the performance indexes of asphalt mixture under different ceramsite content. The results indicate that there is an obvious increase of high temperature stability after adding ceramsite to as-phalt mixture. The water stability decreased and low temperature crack resistance showed no significant change. Above all compre-hensive performance indicators determined the ceramsite suitable dosage is 60%.
