Experimental study on the passing ability of self-compacting concrete(SCC)

Abstract：Experiments were designed especially for the investigation of the passing ability of SCC. The influence of different parameters on the passing ability and the related function mechanism were studied by analyzing the test results. It was shown that the blocking probability was higher in the case of smaller clearance between reinforcement bars,smaller aggregate size(keep clear-ance/aggregate size ratio constant),irregular aggregates,lower SCC flow ability,and reinforcement grid(compared to parallel rein-forcement bars). Moreover,different blocking mechanisms and passing ability characteristics were verified and extended.
