An investigation on performances and cost analysis of green concrete blending high volume fly ash with limestone powder

Abstract：This paper presents performances and cost analysis of high volume fly ash concrete (HVFAC) mixtures based on the combination of limestone powder,fly ash,and Portland cement. Performance has been evaluated by measuring setting times,com-pressive strength development,and transport properties characterized by rapid chloride permeability test. In addition to restoring set-ting times to those of the control concrete,small portion of limestone powder in a HVFAC mixture also provide significant improve-ments in strengths and transport properties. Moreover,based on a simple cost analysis,a HVFAC mixture with proper amount of limestone powder has a superior technical economy benefit and can better play its green energy-saving potential.
