Study on the test methods of concrete laitance

Abstract：This paper introduces the test method of the thickness of fresh concrete laitance layer and the test method of hardening concrete laitance rate. The two methods are used to characterize the severity of concrete laitance. The results show that both test methods can be used to effectively characterize the laitance situation of the concrete to a certain extent. The test method of the thickness of fresh concrete laitance layer has the advantages of quick test,short experimental period and quick conclusion, but it cannot distinguish between the cement laitance and the fly ash laitance which is more harmful to practical engineering. The advantage of the test method of hardening concrete laitance rate is that it tests the hardened harmful laitance with low strength, and its value may be more instructive for practical engineering applications,but the experimental period is relatively long.
