Abstract:The cement based composite was reinforced by warp knitted spacer fabric with a three-dimensional and hollow structure. The warp knitted spacer fabric was impregnated with resin by different ways, obtaining four kinds of reinforcements. The effect of different reinforcements on the mechanical properties of foam concrete was studied. The reinforcements had no remarkable effect on the density and water absorption rate of foam concrete, but significantly increased the compressive strength and flexural strength of foam concrete. Especially, when the reinforcement was the overall structure of spacer fabric impregnated with resin, the composite has the highest compressive strength and flexural strength which were increased by 128.4% and 553.8% respectively. Meanwhile, the different yarn densities in warp and weft directions result in different properties in all directions. Warp knitted spacer fabric changed the failure mode of cement-based material and improve the deformability, avoiding the catastrophic destruc-tion of foamed concrete.
