Research on properties of epoxy building structural adhesive used in winter

Abstract：The novel epoxy building structural adhesive with high compressive strength of early stage(1 d) amd no need of pre-heating before used at winter low temperature was prepared. Effect of the dosage of accelerator (DMP-30),fumed silica,ce-ment,silicon powder,asbestos fiber and coupling agent on the working time,thixotropy,and mechanical properties of the 6002 epoxy adhesive under -5℃ condition was studied. Results show that the adhesive acquires its best properties when the mass ratio of 6002 epoxy resin,curing agent (593),accelerator (DMP-30),coupling agent (KH-550),fumed silica,cement,silicon powder and as-bestos fiber is 100:25:1:5:1:95:95:10. Its working time is 90 min,thixotropy is good,no sagging phenomenon appears,its compressive strength of 1d and 14 d is 45 MPa and 85 MPa respectively,its 14 d tensile strength is 35 MPa,and its bonding strength to con-crete is 4.5 MPa,the failure mode was concrete cohesion failure. The prepared adhesive completely meets the property requirements in standard GB 50728—2011.
