Abstract:A novel polymer cement flame retardant wallpaper was prepared with aluminate cement and VAE emulsion as main material, magnesium hydroxide as fire retardant, expanded perlite, calcium carbonate as padding, bentonite as lubricant, and some wa-ter and water reducing agent. The raw materials were mixed to form a paste, then coated onto the non-woven fabric, after curing and drying, the wallpaper was made out. The orthogonal tests were carried out repeatedly to study the effect of raw materials ratio on the wallpaper properties. SEM observation was also used to analyze the reason of the better flexibility of the wallpaper and the influence of wet curing process to the wallpaper structure. The optimal dosage of cement is 33%,magnesium hydroxide is 11.5%. The best ratio of perlite to calcium carbonate is 0.9:0.1. The flame retardant wallpaper is flexible. It's density is 0.34 g/cm3,the af-terglow time is 1s,and the carbonation rate is 4.8%,which is a novel polymer cement flame retardant paper with excellent combi-nation property.
