Study on effect of defoamer on the properties of mortar mixed with naphthalene superplasticizer

Abstract：Through the test of effect of defoamer in different dosage on air content,slump flow,strength and the ratio of compressive strength to flexural strength of mortar mixed with naphthalene superplasticizer (NSF),studied the compatibility of four kinds of defoamer and NSF.Results show that,the effects of defoamer in mortar mixed with NSF is related to the kinds and amounts of defoamer.Generally,defoamer can reduce the air content of mortar mixed with NSF,improve the fluidity,increase the strength and reduce the ratio of compressive strength to flexural strength,and the defoamer with a good defoaming effect usually has a better improvement on mortar flow and strength of mortar mixed with NSF.
