Study on grouting material in limestone-water glass system

Abstract：The cementing reaction of limestone－ water glass system is probed into firstly.The measurement of PH value confirms that the system can react,but slowly. The impact factors of accelerating the system reaction are studied from angle of water glass. The result shows: SiO2 in water glass is at some transition status; Baume degree is bigger than 45° ;to raise temperature properly may accelerate the system reaction. The cube(2cm x 2cm x 2cm)made of low purity limestone－ water glass slurry cured at 40℃ , with stone and sand binding powers of 8.3 MPa and 11.3 MPa respectively, may develop a new inorganic grouting material.
