Research progress of surfactants in latex paint

Abstract：This paper reviews recent researches and developments on surfactants in latex paints.Special attention is put on the use of emulsifiers in latex polymerization and latex paints. The important roles of emulsifiers in polymer latex and latex paint system and the competitive adsorption between surfactants in paint formulations are discussed. The advantage of polymerizable surfactants as emulsifier is points out and development and application of polymerizable surfactants are introduced.
