A brief account of the development of the gravity-fed 3-product heavy medium cyclone

Abstract：Through dedicated development of the gravity-fed 3-product heavy medium cyclone over the past several decades from introduction of the technology to making independent R&D of such cyclones,there have appeared now in China multiple versions that all lead the world in technical level.The paper presents a brief account of the course of the development of this kind of cyclone in the early stage,its fur-ther developments in recent years,and the performances of the cyclones in industrial application,with the focus particularly placed on the special features and performance of the NWSX and 3GDMC versions.
