Abstract:Limbic-predominant age-related TDP-43 encephalopathy(LATE)is a common neurodegenerative disease primarily affecting the oldest old, characterized by pathological TDP-43 protein deposition.Pure LATE manifests as slowly progressive amnestic symptoms.Antemortem diagnosis of this disease is challenging, with definitive diagnosis heavily reliant on postmortem pathological examination.Consequently, research into treatments for this disease has lagged behind. This review aims to summarize recent advances in the clinical manifestations, pathological characteristic and biomarkers of LATE,with the goal of enhancing understanding of the disease.
