Abstract:Pituitary dysfunction after traumatic brain injury(TBI)has increasingly attracted attention, with growth hormone deficiency(GHD)being the most common subtype. The use of growth hormone(GH)replacement therapy for patients with GHD after TBI has a positive impact on prognosis, including cognitive improvement, and so on.This article reviews the mechanisms of pathophysiology of GHD,the mechanisms of GH treatment for TBI and the current status of clinical application, and proposes future development directions to provide the theoretical guidance for the application of GH in the treatment of GHD after TBI.
