Research progress on the correlation between blood-brain barrier and cerebral small vessel disease

Abstract：Cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD)is a leading cause of stoke and vascular dementia,and its pathogenesis remains unclear.Research on brain histopathology has identified that the blood-brain barrier plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis and progression of CSVD.This article reviews the research progress on the correlation between blood-brain barrier and CSVD from imaging biomarkers,blood biomarkers and pathophysiology,to provide ideas for better diagnosis and treatment of CSVD.
