Analysis of the abnormity of lipemia in community senior citizens in Chongqing city
Abstract:BACKGROUND: Hyperlipemia is an important risk factor causing cardiac cerebrovascular diseases.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the prevalence and impact factors of hyperlipemia in senior citizens in Chongqing City for providing a reliable scientific gist in community health prevention in senior citizens in Chongqing City.DESIGN: A cross-sectional study according to the diagnosis and on the basis of community.SETTING, PARTICIPANTS and INTERVENTIONS: Totally 4 915subjects above 60 years old in the commuties of Chongqing City were randomly selected by chester sampling. 2 mL of venous blood was drawn for lipemia analysis. Relative influence factors were investigated by questionnaires. Complicated diseases were confirmed by physical check-ups.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The lipemia level of community senior citizens in Chongqing City as well as the relationships among prevalence, age and gender of hyperlipemia, and the relationship between hyperlipemia and corresponding factors.RESULTS: Among the 4 915 testees, there were 431 (8.77%) hypercholesterolemia cases, 703(14.03%) hyperlipemia cases with high low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), and 772(15.71%) hypertriglyceridemia cases. The total serous cholesterol, triacylglycerolemia (TG), and LDL-C increased along with the increase of ages, however, the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)decreased along with the increase of ages. The hyperlipemia prevalence increased in overweight, smoking and drinking population.CONCLUSION: The prevalence of hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, and hyperlipemia with high LDL-C increases along with the increase of ages. Moreover, more males than females suffer from the diseases. Ageing,male, overweight, smoke and alcohol are risk factors of hyperlipemia.
