Expression of platelet CD42b and CD62p in cerebral hemorrhage associated encephaledema
Abstract：Aim To study expression of platelet glycoprotein CD42b and CD62p in patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage and the correlation between their expressiones and formation of perihematomal cerebral edema.Methods Expression of platelet CD42b and CD62p was detected by flow cytometry (FCM) in twenty patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage and admitted in department of neurology of affiliated Tongji hospital,Tongji medical school,Huazhong university of science and technoloygy and fifteen healthy individuals who were families of in- patients.The volume of perihematomal brain edema on computed tomographic scan was determined in twenty patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage.The correlation between the expression of platelet CD42b and CD62p and the volume of perihematomal brain edema is analyzed.Results Expression of platelet CD42b(74.2%± 6.4)% was lower and platelet CD62p(4.7%± 4.8)% was higher in patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage than those in healthy individuals[(9.7± 1.1)% ,(81.6± 3.1)% ](tCD42b=4.328, P< 0.01;tCD62p=4.017, P< 0.01);There was correlation between the size of perihematomal cerebral edema and the expression level of platelet CD42b and CD62p in patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage (rCD42b=- 0.489, P< 0.05; rCD62p=0.646, P< 0.01).Conclusion Activated platelets in acute stage of cerebral hemorrhage participates in the formation of perihematomal cerebral edema.
