Role of the molecular pathogenetic mechanism of plasminogen activator-1 (PAI-1) in fibrostic remodeling of radiated renal
Abstract:Aim To study the role and significance of PAI-1 in radiation renal fibrosis(RRF),and explore the molecular pathogenetic mechanisms of RRF.Methods 24 male Wistar rats were received 30 Gy single dose local bilateral renal irradiation, rats were killed at 3,6,8 and 12 months after irradiation.Renal pathologic changes and expression of PAI-1 were observed using in situ hybridization. Results The expression sequence of PAI-1 mRNA was increased in the RRF,compared with that in the control group, especially in the RRF at 6- 12 months after irradiation. Conclusion PAI-1 may play an important role in the pathogenesis and progress of RRF.
