Research about peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ expression and lung cancer cell growth mechanisms
Abstract:Aim To study the mechanism that peroxisome Proliferator-activated receptor-γ (PPAR-γ ) activated by ligands inhibit human lung cancer cell growth. Methods To detect PPAR-γ expression on the lung cancer cells using RT-PCR and Western blot. The inhibition of human lung cancer cell growth was investigated by MTT and cell counts, and the apoptosis was assessed by TUNEL.Results PPAR-γ expresses on two kinds of lung cancer cells, PPAR-γ agonists can inhibit lung cancer through inducing apoptosis, apoptosis rates of control group,15d-PGJ2 group and ciglitazone group were (1.86± 0.49)% ,(25.8± 2.9)% ,(17.3± 1.9)% (P< 0.01).Conclusion PPAR-γ expresses in lung cancer cells and can be activated by ligands to inhibit lung cancer cells growth through induction of apoptosis, which can provide a new way for therapy of lung cancer in the future.
