Animal model of continuous vegetative state after cerebral injury
Abstract：Aim To make a continuous vegetative state animal model after brain injury of cat to observe its clinical character. Methods Epidural water sac installation were carried out in 40 cats, then saline were pure into the sacs until coma and the evaluation of the animals were made.Results There were 12 cats in the vegetative state 1 month after operation.clinical manifestation,signs were similar to PVS patients. Conclusion Continuous PVS animal models are similar to that of clinical patients and was an ideal animal model of PVS.
