The Effect of PEMF stimulationin on intrinsic healing of tendon injuries in rats
Abstract:Objective In an attempt to approach the effect on intrinsic healing of PEMF stimulation in rats of tendon injuries. Method The tendon in intrinsic and extrinsic healing models were estabished in 32 Wistar rats. The histological examination was conducted. The content of hydroxyprolin and other 14 amino acids of the tendon in intrinsic and extrinsic healing models were analyzed by the System 6300Seris Hight Performance Amino Acid Analyzer (Beckman). Result PEMF accelerated the intrinsic and extrinsic healing of tendon. The tendons of the control group showed central degeneration and necrosis; PEMF group showed less central degeneration and necrosis. Conclusion It is possible that the effect of PEMF stimulation on tendon injuries was mainly due to promoting the intrinsic healing.
