Laryngeal cartilage defect repair with allogenic chondrocyte-PGA complex
Abstract:Objective To explore the ability to repair laryngeal cartilagedefects using chondrocyte-polyglycolic acid(PGA)complexes.Method Chondrocytes were isolated from costa-cartilage of infant rabbits by Ⅱ type collagenase digestion.they were cultured in vitro for 2~3 generations with Ham-F12,and then the cells were cultured in PGA scaffolds.Result cartilaginors matrix was observed 7~10 days after culturing.4weeks after operation, laryngeal cartilage defects were initally filled with new cartilage. No scar and necrosis in operative areas were found.More chondrocytes and matrix were observed in reparative areas. Conclusion Chondrocyte-PGA complex can be used as reparative material for laryngeal thyroid cartilage defect.
