Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of laparoscopic orchiopexy on the short-term and long-term curative effects as well as testicular development in patients with inguinal cryptorchidism. Methods A total of 100 patients with in-guinal cryptorchidism admitted to Qinhuangdao Maternal and Child Health Hospital were prospectively selected as the re-search subjects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into a traditional group and a laparoscopic group, with 50 cases in each group.Patients in the traditional group were treated with conventional orchiopexy, while those in the laparoscopic group were treated with laparoscopic orchiopexy. The surgery-related indicators,short-term and long-term curative effects, and testicular development were compared between the two groups. Results The intraoperative blood loss in the laparoscopic group was less than that in the traditional group(P<0.05),and the time to get out of bed after surgery and the length of hospital stay were shorter than those in the traditional group(P<0.05).At 6 months after surgery, the effec-tive rate of the laparoscopic group was higher than that of the traditional group(P<0.05);at 12 months after surgery, there was no statistically significant difference in the long-term curative effect between the two groups(P>0.05).At 6 months af-ter surgery, the serum levels of anti-Müllerian hormone(AMH)and inhibin B(INHB)in both groups were higher than those before surgery(P<0.05),and there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclu-sion Laparoscopic orchiopexy can promote postoperative recovery in patients with inguinal cryptorchidism, exert favorable short-term and long-term curative effects, and facilitate testicular development.
