Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of hernia needle-assisted single-port laparoscopic transscrotal or-chiopexy on postoperative pain and inflammatory factor levels in pediatric patients with mid/low undescended testi-cles.Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 94 pediatric patients with mid/low undescended testicles treated at Shijiazhuang Maternal and Child Health Hospital between June 2021 and June 2023.Patients were divided into two groups based on surgical approach:the conventional group(n=47),receiving traditional laparoscopic sur-gery,and the study group(n=47),receiving hernia needle-assisted single-port laparoscopic transscrotal orchiopexy.Surgical indicators, postoperative pain, scar status, inflammatory factor levels, testicular development, and compli-cation rates were compared between the two groups.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 22.0 software.Continuous variables were analyzed using the t-test,and categorical variables were analyzed using the χ² test.Re-sults:Compared with the conventional group, the study group exhibited significantly less intraoperative blood loss, shorter operative time, earlier time to ambulation, and shorter hospital stay(all P<0.001).Compared with preopera-tive levels, serum levels of interleukin(IL)-6,IL-1β,and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)at 24 hours and 48 hours postoperatively were significantly elevated in both groups.Furthermore, these levels were significantly higher in the conventional group than in the study group at both time points(all P<0.05).The study group had significantly lower FLACC(Face,Legs,Activity,Cry,Consolability)behavioral pain scale scores at 6,12,24,and 48 hours postoperatively compared to the conventional group(all P<0.001).Observer Scar Assessment Scale(OSAS)and Patient Scar Assessment Scale(PSAS)scores were significantly lower in the study group compared to the conven-tional group(both P<0.001).The complication rate in the study group(4.26%)was significantly lower than that in the conventional group(17.02%)(P<0.05).The rate of favorable testicular development was significantly higher in the study group(87.23%)than in the conventional group(70.21%)(P<0.05).Conclusion:Hernia needle-assisted single-port laparoscopic transscrotal orchiopexy for the treatment of mid/low undescended testicles in pediatric pa-tients can effectively alleviate postoperative pain, reduce inflammatory factor levels, and offers advantages in safety and cosmetic outcomes.
